We begin the process of becoming a member of the Elders' Guild by looking at our lives, learning what our true needs are and developing a vision of ourselves as Elders'. Because we are constantly changing, evolving, developing, growing, being challenged and becoming, the self-assessment process is one that ought to be revisited again and again, at least once a year, to help us chart our course. As a tool for the process, we provide a Deep Self- Assessment. It is tuned to the guild’s Three Core Foundations, and the questions are designed to help us approach the journey with heightened awareness. There is no timeline for the completion of your Self-Awareness Inventory, although it frequently may be the prelude to your formally making the commitment and joining the Elders' Guild. There is no “right” or “wrong” way to use the assessment. You may use it any way you want. Some may want to scan it picking out the few parts that are most relevant to you. Others may want to delve deeply into each question. It’s your assessment. Do it your way. For the greatest possible value, we suggest that you write your responses-- as little or as much as you want. Hold on to whatever you write in your Self-Awareness Inventory as a record of your evolution as an elder. It will be interesting to compare what you write today with what you may write 15 or 20 years from now.
The Self-Awareness Inventory can be downloaded as a PDF (Adobe Acrobat) file or you can work on it in a virtual group setting on-line in the Elders' Guild Self-Awareness Inventory Forum.
